Jungle Crossing - All Tour Native

Jungle Crossing, Mexican Caribbean

Join us on a unique and exciting expedition that will take you on a journey of discovery into some of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Mexico. You will be picked up at your hotel where you will board one of our Mercedes Benz Unimogs 4x4 all-terrain vehicles.

From there we venture into the heart of the jungle and visit Rancho San Felipe, a small Mayan family community where the Nohoch Nah Chich cenote system is located, the second longest underground river system in the world. Here we'll take you on an unforgettable snorkeling adventure into the fresh waters of the underground rivers, swimming deep inside the caverns.

With the snorkel gear that we supply, you will be amazed at the unsurpassable beauty of the stalactite and stalagmite formations above and below this crystal-clear water. The water is so clear in this system that swimming actually feels like flying! Leaving here we cross the ranch to "Heavens Gate", another entrance to this beautiful underground river system, and enter to appreciate another perspective on this incredible natural wonder.

Returning to the ranch a delicious Mexican lunch will be waiting for you prepared in typical Mayan fashion with tasty local ingredients. After lunch you will have the opportunity to get to know the ranch and its inhabitants, a small Mayan family that have lived in this remote jungle location for the last 30 years.

Leaving the ranch in our trucks we continue our expedition to the virtually untouched bay of Punta Soliman, where you will enjoy a kayak trip out to the reef system. On arrival at the reef we get wet and lead you on a snorkeling tour that allows you the opportunity to appreciate the spectacular corals, sponges and tropical fish of the Mexican Caribbean.

Jungle Crossing thus offers an action-packed day that combines 4x4 trekking, jungle, Caribbean Sea, underground river systems, snorkeling, kayaking and an encounter with a Mayan culture that remains quite removed from our civilized world.
